Over the past couple of months, we have been looking at 'proverbs' or wise sayings from people who have accomplished success in their field.  This week's quote comes from Erik Qualman. Erik is a renowned author and motivational speaker - and here is his quote:

"We don't have a choice on whether we do social media, the question is how well we do it." 

 To be completely transparent with you, the first time I read this quote I pushed back against it.  "What do you mean I don't have a choice on whether I do social media? Of course I have the choice!"   A part of that pushback is that I don't like to be told I don't have a choice.  Yes, I am one of THOSE people. The other piece of my pushback requires me to be a lot more transparent.  I am considered by most people to have great personal relationship skills, but I am not so great at technology.  Social media is not generally my thing. I have often felt like a 'fish-out-of-water' when trying to use social media to genuinely connect with people, develop leads, or grow my business.  So, to be told that I have 'no choice' to use it was a bit of a hard pill to swallow at first... but then I did some research.
