Do you have this ability?
May 24, 2021Are you ready for some MONDAY MOTIVATION?
Over the past couple of months now we have been giving your 'Pro-Tips' or "Life-Hacks" to help you and your business operate at a higher capacity. Next week we will be wrapping up our series on Pro-Tips and we will be transitioning to give you helpful advice on networking in your area.
However, today we are focusing on a Pro-Tip that many people struggle with:
the ability to tell someone 'No.'
If you don't have an issue with telling people "No" then congratulations! You are a part of a small group of people who understand that 'No' can be a very helpful and empowering word.
Many people, however, have a difficult time telling others 'No.' to certain requests. If this is you, then let us encourage you for a minute!
You only have so many hours in a day, so many days in a week, and so many weeks in a year. Therefore, if you have personal and professional goals, it is important to prioritize your daily activities to help you achieve those goals.
Maybe your goals look something like this-
2021 Personal Goals:
Lose 25lbs by the end of the year
Excercise 30 minutes every day
Spend Friday nights as uninterrupted time with the family from 5:00pm-9:00pm
Take a family vacation
Read 15 books
2021 Professional Goals:
Attend at least 1 conference
Have 32 transactions
7 million in total sales
Add 52 new people to my database
Host a client party
Those are great goals, but I can tell you with 100% confidence that there are going to be countless things that try to interfere with those goals and occupy your time and energy. The more you say 'Yes' to the things that interfere with your goals, the less likely you are to actually accomplish your goals.
The thing is, if you don't say 'No' to the good things, you'll never be free enough to say 'Yes' to the best things!
Read that last sentence again and let it soak in. Sometimes you have to say 'No' to some good things in order to be able to say 'Yes' to the right things that will help you obtain your goals!
If you struggle in saying "No" I want to encourage you to watch today's video as I talk about my method of how to say "No" in a much more palliative way!
